An  allergy or intolerance is a condition of  unusual sensitivity  to one or more substance. In the allergic person, the allergic substance (known as an allergen) is viewed by the brain as a threat to the body's well being. When contact is made with the allergen, it causes blockages in energy pathways called meridians, disrupting the normal flow of energy through the body's electrical circuits. This energy blockage causes interference between the brain and body via the nervous system, which begins a chain of events that can develop into an allergic response.

Immediate Hypersensitivity

Is an immediate or almost immediate response to any foods eaten like anaphylaxis - the best known of this is an adverse reaction to peanuts as there is an immune response. Other symptoms can be urticaria (itchy raised red lumps either singularly or in clusters), asthma and flu-like symptoms. These foods and substances are more easily identified yourself so you can either avoid these foods or the allergies can be treated with NAET (see Testing and Treatment Page).

Delayed Hypersensitivity

Food intolerance is much more common than food allergy. Food intolerance or non-allergic food hypersensitivity is a delayed, negative reaction to a food, beverage, food additive or environmental substance. It can involve symptoms in one or more body organs and systems, but is not a true allergy as the immune system is not activated. The reaction within the body could take up to three days.   These foods or substances are less easy to identify yourself.

Allergies whether immediate or delayed cause energy imbalances within the body by blocking meridians so vital energy cannot circulate freely around our bodies and therefore giving us negative symptoms.
